My work includes sculpture, painting, and mixed media. My small-scale figurative sculptures are modeled in oil-based clay and cast in bronze and aluminum, drawing inspiration from over twenty-five years of practicing and teaching yoga. I am interested in how subtle shifts in posture or gesture reveal the inner self.
My mixed media work, known as Heart Art, originated as a therapeutic art practice developed during my work as a community mental health clinician. These pieces combine painted canvas with crushed and reassembled found glass. The current series, Beautifully Broken, is inspired by Japanese Raku pottery and honors the beauty of imperfection, resilience, and repair.
The heart is central to all my work, symbolizing both the rhythm of life and the voice of the soul. Through Heart Art and sculpture, I explore emotional expression, empathy, and human connection.
