Ruth Ferraz
Ruth Ferraz, born in São Paulo, Brazil, is a gifted visual artist whose creative journey began in earnest in 1994 after studying Dr. Betty Edwards’ renowned methodology from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. This pivotal experience not only unlocked her artistic potential but also sparked a lifelong interest in the connection between brain function and creativity.
With a background in physical education, Ruth pursued post-graduate research focused on brain hemispheres, combining insights from Edwards and Brain Gym founder Dr. Paul Dennison. She earned her Master’s degree in Education in 2001.
In 2012, Ruth immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 2020. After five years in Savannah, Georgia, she settled in Mentone, Alabama—a town rich in artistic spirit. Alongside her professional art practice, Ruth leads creativity workshops that teach people to see like artists. She credits her artistic talent as a divine gift from God, the source of all creation.
