George Parker Townsend

Born in Washington D.C. on February 17, 1957, George Parker Townsend is an accomplished musician and artist whose creative journey spans over five decades. A professional drummer for 55 years, Parker began his career in 1979, joining the U.S. Army Band and touring Europe for his entire three-year enlistment. After his Army service, Parker became a dedicated freelance drummer, performing and recording with bands across the United States. In 2018 Parker wrote and recorded an original composition called, “Warrior’s Prayer,” dedicated to fallen soldiers, which aired and is played regularly on iHeartRadio.

In 1990, Parker moved to Austin, Texas, and soon began sketching, inspired by nostalgic memories of a small Georgia store from his youth. Relocating to Rome, Georgia, in 2016 to care for his mother, Parker embraced painting, creating around 700 original works since 2018. His compositions, crafted in acrylic on canvas, are known for their imaginative flow, aimed to uplift and inspire.
